The official tell your real comments about Lazylightning.org and POS-BILLROEHL

We have decided to create a blog page for people to place comments about how they feel about the website "Lazylightning.org". We can't put what we actually think about this site because the owner Bill Roehl always deletes them. He will not allow any negative comments about his site. So now we can place them here. Fire away everyone.

22 comments:

  1. Will you delete this comment?

I'm a long-time commenter on lazylightning.org and if you converse, the comment stays. If you're outright blantantly being a jerk, why should he keep the comment?

I don't agree with everything Bill Roehl says. In fact, we very strongly disagree on subjects. But at least when I comment I'm clear and honest about what I think and I don't get deleted. Give it a shot.

  2. The problem is that people need a place to make comments about his site. This blog is justified and people need to see how Bill treats restaurant owners. He picks and chooses what goes on his site and that is not freedom. This blog is freedom and it is what it is. This is no joke, because people are very upset on his morals.

  3. Is this for real? So let's review...

    1) "He picks and chooses what goes on his site and that is not freedom." OK.. you've figured out that it's "his" site, so that means HE can say or post or allow anything he wants too. That's freedom. Just as you are free to put up this site.. get it?

    2) "People are very upset on his morals." I'm assuming that you're not a native English speaker here.. People can be upset about Bill and about what he says, they can suggest that he has no morals.. but, you can't really be upset "on" his morals.. On the other hand you might only be about 10 years old.. that’s how my kids write.

    3) You use "we".. who is We? Better question, who are YOU? You apparently don't have the courage to leave your real name on your posts. In the blog world that makes you a lurker. In the real world that makes you a chicken shit.. take your pick. Now if we were to discover that maybe you’re just a bitter restaurant owner… well that would sort of kill your credibility here wouldn’t it.

While I didn't get a chance to read your insightful comments on Lazylightning.org I do know that Bill deletes racist and profanity laden posts. However, really since it's Bill site.. he can delete anything he wants.

    4) How does Bill treat restaurant owners? If he likes the place he writes about it. If he doesn't, well to bad for the restaurant. Now, if I owned a restaurant in the South Metro and Bill panned me on his site, I would take the view that "feedback is a gift". You can count on the fact what Bill says online, a 100 other customers have thought to themselves and never come back. And if my shitty pizza place fails, I can't blame Bill, I'd have to blame myself. BTW.. Bill is an excellent restaurant critic. Just one of the reasons he has 20,000 readers on his site after all.

Bill has in fact posted your funny comments on Urban Spoon on his site. Matter of fact you were responsible for one of his most successful posts in a while, based on number of comments. People eat your content up dude, you're hilarious and attracted quite a bit of traffic to Lazylightning.org.. Matter if fact I thought maybe Bill himself was posting as you to generate the publicity.

I'm sure Lazylightning.org fans will track this page now.. it's a nice comic relief.
I'm curious to see what happens when people "fire away" here.. I'll read your site.. I just can't look away from a good train wreck.

  6. Are you related to him? Are you his friend? Does your comment have a direct impact on his success? Now we aren't astroturfing, are we? LMAO! Bet you anything that Bill doesn't have the balls to put this blog link on his site. Put it in Bill!! Let see the real commments. If in 60 days we find that I'm wrong and your credible, I will fold this blog.

    Piece out.

  7. I'm a fan dude. I read him all the time. I have never represented myself as anything else.

You should get a better understanding of blogging terms before you drop them.. although it does make your posts funny.

For your reference, "Astroturfing" is the act of trying to boost one's image online with fake comments, paid-for reviews, made-up claims and testimonials.

Here's a great example for your reference, from Bill's blog...

    http://www.lazylightning.org/?s=astroturfing
Re-reading it.. I'm thinking you might recognize some of your work.

I'm commenting on a blog.. With my real name.. that would make me not a turfer. I hope this site gets packed with comments from folks. Of course you success is 100% dependent on your arch-nemisis Big Bill.. ironic nest-pas?

Don't fold this site, dude, it's good humor, every post has something funny.. "piece out"... that would "Peace".

    You kill me.

  8. really... piece out? Did your spell checker screw up. So what do you really think about "this" site? Personally I kind of find it derivative, though I am talking about "this" site.

  9. Just posted a link to your site on Twitter. Should get you some more traffic. Keep up the good work!

    ReplyDelete
  10. BTW.. Bill has NO links to other blogs on his site, mine included. Shame, I could use the hits.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Been there done that on tit-for-tat on spelling, grammer and etc. Stick to the point on the blog.

    ReplyDelete
  12. OKie dokie... But spelling and grammer do say something about the author.

Good news, Bill just re-posted your link as well to all of his followers on Twitter. You're going to get some decent traffic now, now the hard part of blogging.. compelling content, so far you're doing OK and I suspect that lots of Bill readers will enjoy the banter here.

BTW- I'm pretty sure that most people who have found your site did so from a link Bill posted on his blog.. you must have missed it.

  13. You refuse to tell anyone your name and your whole premise for this blog is that Bill is a "piece of shit." You sound like a very bitter person.

I disagree with Bill at times. In fact, I quit reading his blog for a while because of it. But it's his blog and he can do whatever he wants. I don't have to read it and neither do you. Bill critiques the food at a restaurant, not the restaurant owner personally. The only critiques that you could consider personal are of politicians, and even in those cases he's critiquing their ability to perform their job, not their personal lives.

So either enter the conversation on his site or don't. You'd be surprised at how many wide varieties of opinions there are on his site, whether it's opinions of restaurants, politics, or whether or not he's a "piece of shit."

But don't run away with your tail between your legs and create a site to berate him. That's as low as it gets.

  14. Oh, and I was hoping Bill was a relative of my great grandfather Albert Roehl (whose ancestor came to MN from the Hartz Mt area of Germany via Kongsberg, Norway and the UP.

But if he's related to you...

  15. What does it matter who I am? This blog is not about me it's for people that can't speak their words on his site. Blocking ip addresses and deleting comments is completely wrong and bias. Let people speak their words and deal with the blows. Negative publicity is good for his site like you said. Look at all the movie stars; they get more popular with negative publicity.

    ReplyDelete
  16. heh.. this is great..

the only reason that it matters who you are, is because you're complaining that the owner of a site is afraid to post your messages. But, you're afraid to post who you are.

Its your credibility that is affected by your hiding behind your proxy servers and such.

BTW, still waiting for that first shot to be fired at Lazylightning.org.. So far you've only attracted fans.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Guessing that if Bill ever blocked you from commenting, it's because A.) You used an unverified email address or B.) You posted hateful, racist, or otherwise inflammatory comments. My bet would be with A.) Bill does not tolerate people posting from invalid email accounts just to remain anonymous. He won't publish your email address to the outside world, but if you've ever been to a comment board like the Star Tribune where anonymity is allowed, you'll see that it's full of hatred, trolls, etc. in the comments. Bill won't let his site go there.

  18. I was hoping that this would be a interesting read with some good commentary. Looks like you've gone a week without a single hit. Oh well, content is a bitch as I said.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hey uh.. You gonna pull down your site? Next week is 60 days. Just checking.

    ReplyDelete
  20. If in 60 days we find that I'm wrong and your credible, I will fold this blog.

Well? You're now onto 63 days.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Here we are over a year out and you've not had a hit on this site and you haven't pulled the site down. Looks like you've failed. And you lie.
